Ajax Intruder Alarm, Fire Detection and CCTV — Bury St. Edmunds

A complete intruder alarm, fire safety and CCTV system for a Bury St. Edmunds property

Ajax Security Installer Bury St Edmunds — Intruder Alarm, Fire and CCTV Project

As an Ajax security installer in Bury St Edmunds, Flagship AV was approached by a homeowner who, following the completion of their Dolby Atmos cinema room, wanted to fully protect their property with a comprehensive security and fire safety system.

The brief was to deliver complete coverage across the property: intruder detection, fire and carbon monoxide safety, smart CCTV surveillance, and a video doorbell, all integrated into a single system managed from one app.

Flagship AV specified an Ajax Hub 2 as the central control unit, paired with a full set of dual-technology motion detectors and door and window sensors throughout the property, plus outdoor motion detection to cover the exterior. Both indoor and outdoor sirens were included for audible deterrence in the event of an intrusion.

Fire and gas safety was addressed with a network of interlinked smoke, heat and carbon monoxide detectors positioned throughout the home, each capable of triggering a full-property alarm within seconds of detecting a hazard, ensuring early warning regardless of where a fire or gas leak originates.

For surveillance, the system included multiple 4K Ajax TurretCam cameras with AI-powered detection capable of distinguishing between people, vehicles and pets, recorded via an 8-channel NVR with 8TB of dedicated storage. A wireless Ajax Doorbell was added separately, giving instant two-way video communication with visitors and AI-based detection of who or what is at the door.

The whole system is controlled through a touchscreen keypad and the Ajax mobile app, with wireless key fobs and tags allowing the household to arm and disarm the system without needing a password or app access, including a dedicated panic function for emergencies.

The completed project, including the subsequent addition of the Ajax video doorbell, represented a total investment of approximately £5,700.

The client’s decision to return to Flagship AV for a second major project, following the cinema room installation, reflects the trust built through the original working relationship and the consistency of service across multiple projects on the same property.

This project reflects the kind of comprehensive coverage an experienced Ajax security installer in Bury St Edmunds can deliver across intruder alarm, fire safety and CCTV in a single integrated system.
